I'm a single black mother that is raising a wonderful lil boy!!!
Well yesterday we went to the audiologist. The test was rather quick. I think he was in there for about a good 10 minutes. I wasn't able to go in, so I sat in the waiting room. The audiologist said that he did outstanding. I was very suprised that he warmed up to the guy so fast. When he came out he told me that his left ear appears to be fine, but it's his right ear which is cloudy and with the fluid.
The guy couldn't really tell me much if he needed the procedure but from judging by the positive vibe I was getting from him, he may not need it. He asked me if he snored and I told him yes. So he said the Dr. will be checking his tonsils and what nots. When I took him to the district for the test, they saw the fluid on both ears. Now when I take him there, they said only one ear. So either the machine wasn't quite as advanced as this, or the amoxicillian is working. And I say this because for the first time in months, his nose was snot-free!!!
But in the meantime I'm trying to get him in a special school. I've taken him outta his pre-school because they just didn't have the manpower to deal with my son's issues and the fact that he was only doing half days. He goes to school from 9-3 but they were calling me around 10:45 to come and pick him up because of his behavior. So I just got fed up with it and told my babysitter to keep him full time until I get him into this special school. But the only part that hurts about the situation is that I thought me and his teacher had a rapport with each other. She would always call me to update me on what was going on. But after I took him out, I get nothing. No how's he doin? Did you get him in the other school yet? Not a damn thing. But I guess at situations like this, he is just another kid to them. So things like this just make my skin thicker. I am soooo anxious for him to get into this other shcool. They focus more on his needs and it's an all day thing. When I say all day, it's all day...try from 6am to 6pm!!! That way I won't need anyone to drop him off or pick him up. And it's government funding so I will probably pay close to nothing for it. The lady at the school is working her ass off to get him in there. They have a waiting list and if she can prove that he has a need to be there (which he does) then she could move him to the top of the list!!! I'm praying so hard over this. This is just what he needs, is someone to really help him, maybe one on one if they have to.
So again my fam, please keep him in your prayers.
