Good for you for meeting with the teacher and trying to work on the issues together. It's important to be involved, even when they're that young. He definitely needs to be challenged if he's getting bored and finding other ways to occupy himself. If you feel he is gifted you want to find ways to build on that and his creativity. Kids LOVE LOVE LOVE art; he should especially if he is a "hands on" kind of child. Different projects can keep him busy for quite awhile and you guys will have fun together. Also I would get him things that he could build and create with it. Legos are cool and they have different types of toys that kids can assemble themselves. It's great you rewarded the positive behavior. Kids need that encouragement. When you're rewarding him, I would try to stay away from buying treats and maybe reward him with a favorite activity instead. It's good to switch it up too so he doesn't get bored with the same thing all the time. He'll get used to those skittles and expect them all the time. Next thing you know he'll have a full blown sweet tooth. Smile. Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
